Small MLP (784→128→64→10) trained on MNIST (~… test accuracy). It will misread messy or unusual handwriting — watch the confidence bars to see when it's guessing. Hover a bar for the raw logit. I built the network by hand: matrix multiply, ReLU, softmax — no ML library at runtime.
